The Power of Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the act of being aware of the present moment experience, but doing so without judgement, elaboration, or emotional reactivity. This sounds relatively easy and straightforward, but in reality, as humans we rarely achieve this goal. This is because our minds are typically wandering. When our minds are wandering, we stop paying attention to the present moment and even to our own bodies. Bringing our attention back to the present through mindfulness has the potential to significantly and positively impact our lives. This talk will introduce mindfulness fundamentals and present the science behind why mindfulness can help you obtain enhance happiness, quality of life, and overall wellbeing.
