Concussion & TBI Panel
Enjoy an interactive panel discussion and Q&A representing multiple perspectives on concussions and traumatic brain injuries (TBI), moderated by Dan Krawczyk, PhD, Center for BrainHealth Deputy Director and TBI researcher. This panel will feature Lori Cook, PhD, Director of Clinical Research at the Center for BrainHealth, Shane Miller, MD, Pediatric Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics at UT Southwestern, former Dallas Cowboys player and Air Force veteran Chad Hennings and Johnny Ringo, Athletic Director at Highland Park High School.
In many ways, the growing fear of concussion is overtaking the valuable information to be gleaned from ongoing science. Playing sports is a powerful, life-enhancing activity that provides important emotional and academic benefits for youth, and efforts must continue to keep making sports safer and minimize the risk of repeated concussion. Our panelists will discuss the latest evidence and practices as well as proactive approaches to promote brain health and resilience in our athletes across the lifespan. We hope you will join us for this important and informative evening.
