Brain Energy Metabolism and Cognition in Alzheimer's disease: A spectroscopy study at 7-Tesla

Namrata Das, MD, PhD, MPH

Dr. Namrata Das was born and raised in Hyderabad, India. She graduated with a Master’s in public health from Missouri State University, followed by working as a physician. In her medical career, she realized her passion for Alzheimer’s disease research and joined Sandi Chapman’s lab at Center for BrainHealth in 2015. Her focus is on developing and implementing research in Alzheimer’s disease to understand the early pathophysiological changes using advanced imaging technology.

She will discuss how energy is the core that regulates biological mechanisms of the cell. Disruption of energy metabolism in the brain may be one of the early marker of Alzheimer’s disease. This work is focused in understanding the role of brain energy metabolism in Alzheimer’s disease using a novel and advanced technology called spectroscopy at 7-Tesla.
