The Center for BrainHealth invites top scientists in the field to share their knowledge with students, researchers and all who are interested in the science of brain health. The lectures focus on their latest approaches and findings. They are free when you register.

Homelessness in the veteran population

Dina Hooshyar, MD, MPH

Dr. Hooshyar is the Director of the National Center on Homelessness among Veterans (the Center) and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She has a background in internal medicine, psychiatry, and public health. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and an infectious diseases fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She subsequently earned a master degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Epidemic Intelligence Service program. She also served in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and completed her residency in psychiatry at Yale University.
